Hundreds of toys from the the second annual TMCF Toy Drive were delivered today to the Milford-Area Department of Children and Families
Help for the Holidays Toy Drive
The Total Mortgage Community Foundation hosted its Second Annual Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive from December 1st through 16th. The drive culminated with Total Mortgage's Annual Holiday Party, to which guests were encouraged to bring a toy.
The results were astounding. We received nearly two hundred brand new toys for children of all ages. Donations were delivered today to the Milford area Department of Children and Families, where the toys will be distributed to families who otherwise who not have had toys to wrap and gift to their children this holiday season.
For families who are struggling, providing a small sense of normalcy during the holiday season has a strong impact. Employees of DCF stated that typically, during the holiday season, they use their own money to purchase small gifts for the families they support. They also stated that these toys will have an impact far beyond the holiday season, and will be used to stock the DCF facilities for children who are needing a safe haven from their current environments.
It was a humbling and important reminder of the need in our community; there are tons of children who will have a smile on their face this holiday season because of your generosity -- thank you everyone for participating!
